Tasting notes

This vintage has everything you can hope for in a cab: the aroma of this wine is reminiscent of earthy forest floor and dark, brooding fruits with notes of cedar and graphite. The palate is elegant and seamless with fine dusty tannins. This wine is excellent for extended aging.
Winemaker notes
Amelia Park hand-picks, crushes and destems their best cabernet grapes, then places them into static fermenters where they ferment at cool temperatures with minimal pump-overs to ensure delicate extraction of flavours and colour. The wine spends up to one month on skins before being pressed off into French oak barrels for 18 months: forty percent in new barrels and the remainder into second- and third-use barrels.
Vintage report
The 2018 vintage in Margaret River is considered a stand out year. Excellent flowering and fruit set in October/November 2017 coupled with a cool January/February ensured a steady ripening period resulting in a beautiful balance of yields, flavour development and tannins.
